Section 45
Open market trading operations
(1) The bank shall conduct open market transactions in the form of immediate purchase or sale or later purchase or sale of bonds issued on behalf of the Government of Nepal or bonds issued or specified by the bank under agreement. (2) The bank shall conduct open market transactions as per subsection (1). In doing so, it will also be able to perform emergency liquidity management by entering into a repurchase agreement or reverse repurchase agreement to protect the bonds of the Government of Nepal and the bonds issued by the bank itself. (3) The bank may also issue other suitable tools for open market transactions.
